FAQ
COMMON QUESTIONS
Why is XFoil priced lower than many premium eFoils?
The xfoil is sold completely factory-direct, which entirely eliminates traditional dealer markups and unnecessary retail layers. By removing the middlemen, we can deliver premium engineering, advanced composite construction, direct-drive propulsion, and cutting-edge ride technology at a much more accessible price point.
Furthermore, we engineer everything completely in-house from the ground up. We have spent years optimizing our manufacturing costs and refining every single aspect of the platform internally, allowing us to pass those massive efficiency savings directly onto you without compromising on performance or quality.
How does shipping work?
Yes, worldwide shipping is available. All shipments originate directly from our factory in Asia via freight cargo. If you need your board faster, quick air shipping is also available as an option. Shipping insurance is completely optional and can be added to your order upon request.
As soon as your package departs the factory, you will receive an initial tracking number. Once the shipment clears customs in your destination country and is handed over to a regional carrier, you will be updated with a local tracking number for final delivery. Please note that international customers are responsible for any import duties, VAT, GST, customs fees, or local taxes required by their destination country.
What warranty and return policy do you offer?
Every xfoil package comes with a comprehensive 1-year manufacturer's warranty and a 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee.
Under our satisfaction guarantee, you have a 48-hour inspection period from the time of delivery to inspect the contents of your package and verify proper operation on dry land. If you choose to request a return and refund, the product must be completely unused in the water, undamaged, and in its original packaging with all included components, chargers, hardware, and manuals. Please note that return shipping and adequate shipping insurance are the responsibility of the customer, and an official return authorization (RMA) must be issued before items are shipped back.
Additionally, if any goods arrive damaged from transit, this must be reported to our support team within 5 business days of receipt for domestic shipments, and within 48 hours of receipt for international shipments.

Which XFoil model is right for me?
If you are choosing between Escape and Apex, the simplest recommendation is this: choose the Apex if you are new to eFoiling and want the most stable, confidence-building platform. Choose the Escape if you are a lighter rider who wants a smaller, lighter, more agile board.
The Escape is best for riders under 220 lbs who want a compact, nimble board with premium composite construction, a 5,000W direct-drive motor, and a 28 mph top speed.
The Apex is our preferred choice for most beginners and larger riders because its 100L volume provides more stability, float, and confidence. It also adds a 6,000W motor, 30+ mph top speed, and dual ride configurations: Fly Mode and Surface Mode.
Do I need eFoil experience to ride an XFoil?
No previous eFoil experience is required. For most first-time riders, we recommend starting with the Apex because the larger 100L board gives you more stability and forgiveness while learning.
The Escape can still work for beginners who are lighter weight and want a smaller board, but it is more compact and nimble, so it rewards a rider who is comfortable learning on a more responsive platform.
Is the Escape good for beginners?
Yes, for the right rider. The Escape is suitable for lighter beginners under 220 lbs who want a compact, agile board and are comfortable learning on a smaller platform.
For most new riders, especially riders who want maximum stability or who are closer to the upper weight range, we recommend the Apex first.
Is the Apex only for advanced riders?
No. The Apex is actually the better all-around choice for many beginners because it has more volume, more stability, and a wider performance range.
Its 100L board, 6,000W motor, and dual Fly / Surface Mode setup make it easier to grow into over time. It can support newer riders learning the basics while still offering enough performance for advanced riding.
Can I upgrade or replace parts later?
Yes, the XFoil is engineered with a completely modular architecture designed for maximum service, replacement, and upgrade flexibility. Rather than owning a static system, you can easily upgrade to larger battery packages, replace worn components, swap wings for different riding dynamics, or add new accessories over time as your skills evolve.
Every major component uses a straightforward, bolt-on design. In the rare event that a component requires service or replacement, you only need to swap out that specific part. Because individual parts are easily detached, the large board hull never has to be shipped back to a service center, keeping logistics simple, fast, and highly cost-effective.
How long does the battery last?
Both the Escape and Apex can deliver up to 2 hours of ride time depending on battery size, rider weight, speed, water conditions, wing choice, and riding style.
Efficient cruising delivers the longest runtime. Aggressive riding, higher speeds, heavier riders, and rough water will reduce ride time.
Is the battery removable?
Yes, the battery is fully removable for charging, servicing, replacement, or future upgrades. However, the system is engineered so you can plug in and charge directly through the board without ever needing to take the battery out.
When needed, you have total flexibility to remove it and charge it separately.
Is XFoil quiet?
XFoil uses a direct-drive motor system with no gearbox. This creates a quieter, simpler, no maintenance propulsion system compared with geared noisy systems.
What is the nano controller remote?
The nano controller is the handheld remote used to control power delivery while riding. It gives riders precise throttle control in a compact waterproof form factor.
What safety features does XFoil include?
Safety is engineered into every tier of the XFoil system through a comprehensive, multi-layer hardware and software architecture.
For active rider protection, the board features automatic fall detection, an anti-runaway throttle kill system, board angle detection with automatic power-off, a standard-equipment propeller protector ring, a high-traction anti-slip deck pad, and a dedicated low-power self-rescue mode to get you safely back to shore.
System longevity and electrical safety are managed via built-in overheat protection, over-current protection, thermal shutdown barriers, and an active anti-propeller cavitation recovery algorithm.
Physical enclosure safety is driven by a double-redundancy waterproof battery box engineered with clear inspection windows, allowing you to visually verify the watertight seal and battery state before entering the water.
Please note that while XFoil includes these advanced safety guardrails, riders should always wear proper flotation gear, follow local waterway rules, and ride within their personal ability level.
Is XFoil waterproof?
XFoil is designed for marine use with waterproof systems and protected electronics. The board features IP68 waterproof design details and a double-redundancy battery box.
