The First Ride Guide

Q: Why does my remote immediately shut down when I press the up button to start the motor?

A: This behavior is caused by a built-in safety feature designed to protect you and your equipment. If your board is on dry land or resting at an angle, the internal orientation sensors detect that it is not in a flat, safe riding position and will immediately shut down the motor as a precaution.

To test the motor spin on dry land, you can temporarily bypass this feature by pressing and holding the down button on your remote to enter the setup menu, navigating to your user settings, and toggling the safety option off. This disables the board angle shutdown detection so you can run your test, but please remember to toggle the safety setting back on before you take the board out to ride.
